Buying maternity clothes can be annoying. I’ve been searching the web like crazy trying to find cute dresses that don’t look like the typical cheesy ones I know no one wants to wear. My take on maternity clothes is not to go overboard shopping for pieces I won’t be able to wear after the baby arrives. I know some are inevitable but there are styles of dresses, for example, you can certainly purchase that will last more than the few months you will really need them for the bump. For things you absolutely need, I wanted to spend as little as possible. Below I’m listing some of my favorite bump-friendly dresses and clothes that work for both during and after your pregnancy!
Bump-Friendly Dresses and Clothes

Nothing Fits But
The dresses on this website are so whimsical and they really work for pregnant and non pregnant women. The dress I wore from my announcement photos is from here. I also bought one I hope to wear for my newborn photos.
Target
You can never go wrong with Target for basics. I am really loving their line by Ingrid and Isabel. The maternity bras and maternity leggings have been great purchases at affordable prices. Now that it’s getting colder here in the East Coast I’ve been wearing these maternity jeans in black and blue denim non stop.
Red Dress
I really love the variety of styles Red Dress has to offer. Their dresses change often but you can sort easily by style and what’s new!
Hill House Home
The queen of the smock nap dress, Hill House Home dresses are perfect for pregnancy because you can easily wear them after bump. I have four of them! My favorite styles are the Ellie and the Nesli. They sell out fast so I recommend you sign up for their alerts for new style drops.
Lake Pajamas
The softest pajamas you’ll ever wear. I am obsessed with Lake Pajamas because they have a long style that works for my height. I also bought the pima robe for postpartum. So far I’ve been able to wear my normal size at 21 weeks and I’ll switch to this style later.
Seraphine
Seraphine is one of my favorite stores. It’s London based and has an international following loved by celebrities and royals across the globe. It’s one of the brand’s Kate Middleton wore during her pregnancies. These are some of the styles she wore: Knot front maternity dress, royal blue maternity dress, and cashmere maternity coat.
Pink Blush Maternity
Pink Blush Maternity has so many pretty dresses at great dresses prices all for expecting mamas. The prices are affordable too and you can definitely wear them after the baby is born.
Hatch
Hatch is a splurge but the dresses are very pretty. Meghan Markle is a fan and wore several pieces throughout her pregnancies.
Pea in the Pod
I remember this store way before I was even pregnant! Solid finds for pregnancy, I really like this dress from them.
Dondolo
This brand is such a dream and has some mommy and me matching pieces as well. A lot are smock top dresses so you can wear them after bump. Currently obsessing over this pink rose dress.
Amazon
These leggings are considered by many to be one of the best Lululemon Align inspired pair (the Align leggings have a huge following). I haven’t tried them but they have over 30,000 reviews so they must be good!
