It’s been a rough stretch—over 12 days of feeling pretty awful. It started with stomach troubles (I’ll spare the details here, but happy to share if you’re curious), and by day 7, a full-blown cold joined the party. The day I was finally able to see a GI doctor (which is so hard to get a quick appointment for here in Greenwich), my symptoms stopped. I guess this is how it often works, huh?
Thankfully, I’m finally turning a corner and feeling more like myself—enough to sit down and write this. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who checked in, sent over doctor recs, or just kept me company through the not so pretty parts (yes, even the stomach talk!).
This whole experience made me pause and really appreciate what a privilege it is to eat without worry. It gave me a deeper respect for those who navigate digestive issues or strict food restrictions every single day. It’s not easy. There’s so much joy and connection tied to food, and when your body doesn’t cooperate, it can be incredibly frustrating and isolating. So if that’s part of your daily life, I see you. And I’m with you.
The Sephora Sale Is Here
The Sephora Savings Event is officially on, and it’s one of the few sales I actually plan for each year. You can shop my favorite things here (which has a mix of everything). I always take this chance to stock up on essentials. I can’t live without so many of these things. Eye cream, Summer Friday lip balm (obsessed), concealer, face moisturizer, hair products (like all of them lol), and so much more.
I’m also trying a few new picks I’ve heard amazing things about. It’s a great time to invest in the products you love most—and maybe discover a new favorite too. I always spend more than I mean to… but then I don’t have to think about restocking for months. Totally worth it.
Trending: Denim Flats
I’ve been spotting denim flats everywhere lately, and I’m so happy I finally got my Chanel pair a few weeks ago. There’s a funny (and mildly frustrating) story behind them. I ordered them through Saks to pick up in-store, but they lost the shipment. After a couple of weeks of back-and-forth, they tracked down a new pair, had me repurchase, and eventually refunded the original. A bit of a hassle, but I’m glad it worked out. All my Chanel shoes have been black or nude, so it’s nice to add a new color that still feels like a neutral. I also found a few beautiful, less pricey options here.
Cashmere T-Shirts
Classic style isn’t just what I wear—it’s how I live. And few pieces capture that better than a cashmere t-shirt. I discovered JCrew’s version about three years ago and have been devoted ever since. They’re soft, polished, and incredibly easy to wear—no wrinkling, no fuss, just instant refinement.
They elevate any outfit without trying too hard. JCrew offers a great selection of them, and other cashmere pieces, at a great price point. The quality holds up beautifully. I’m a big fan—and if you try it I think you will be too.
A Nursery Room Update
We’re nowhere near ready for a big girl bed, but I’ve been dreaming up a few ways to make Colette’s room feel just a touch more grown-up (you can shop some of what she has here). One small change: adding something above her dresser. We’d kept it bare while it served as a changing table but now I want to add a mirror.
There’s something timeless about a mirror above a dresser, and I keep coming back to the Gleaming Primrose Mirror from Anthropologie. We already have two Anthro mirrors in the house (yes, I know!), but its French vintage charm fits so well with the style I love.
My Resort Picks For Warmer Temps
We’re heading out for spring break soon, and I’ve already started mentally planning my wardrobe! Normally, I don’t do much shopping for vacations, but this one feels different. It’s extra special because it’s Colette’s first plane ride, and I’ve been looking forward to this moment for so long. When I think resort, I think of color and comfort with a touch of glam. However, I still like to keep it classic—choosing pieces I know I’ll wear for years to come. See some of my picks here.
