I never quite understood the love for fall until the past couple years. It’s nice to feel the calm cool breeze, the change of leaves on trees, and the chic layering that comes with fall fashion. I know it’s not quite fall yet (per the calendar) but I think we are all treating it as such. The ability to go for walks without worrying about getting overheated is wonderful. We took our first family walk over the weekend and realized it had been forever since we last did it because Connecticut had some very hot days. If you have little ones in school, it’s also the beginning of a school year. A reminder of how quickly they are growing and becoming their own person.

The Perfect Couple: Limited Series on Netflix
I am obsessed with Elin Hilderbrand, author of The Perfect Couple, which was just turned into a limited series on Netflix. She writes romantic novels based on Nantucket and they are soo good. Just my kind of genre. I was very excited when I first found out about this show and finally finished it. I love Nicole Kidman and she plays Greer. Not the most liked character in the beginning but as you learn more about her you start appreciating her (like her instincts about Emilia end up being true). The characters are complex and the writing is great. Now I need another show to binge watch.
Digital Thermometer
With a new school year comes all the germs our toddlers and kids will be bringing home, and getting sick from. This digital thermometer has been such a game changer. We started using it with Colette a few months ago and even use it for ourselves. This thermometer makes it so easy to check their temperature and works quickly. Extra comforting to know that my doctor had the same one when I went to visit. Check with your pediatrician on what age it’s safe to use for your little ones.
Bachan’s Japanese Barbecue Sauce
My friend Herminia and her husband introduced me to this sauce (the original flavor). I had seen it at Whole Foods but never thought to try it until they told me it was delicious on Salmon. It’s so good and you can put it on so many things. The other day I made Colette baked thin chicken breasts and decided to eat a piece. It needed more flavor so I drizzled a little bit of this and it made such a delicious difference. Check out how this chef uses it on everything.
