How to Wear Floral Prints This Fall!

Who doesn’t love floral prints? I have to be honest, at first I really saw florals to be more appropriate for spring and summer but I’m here to tell you there is no season for florals, you can wear them year round! I wanted to provide a few tips I think are helpful and I’ll be incorporating in my very own wardrobe so we can all wear floral prints this fall, from wearing the print on a dress to a cardigan to a purse, the options are endless.

Look For Autumn Hues to Blend in With the Season

I don’t want this to feel like it’s a very solid rule, because it’s not. You can wear light pinks and blues whenever you want! However, you can also add some autumn hues through your floral collection that will complement the fall season. Colors like terracotta, riverside blue, burgundy, dusty rose, olive, ivory, forest green, and soft plum would be so lovely for the pumpkin spice season. You can check the Pantone fashion fall colors forecast here.

Booties and Flats to Complement the Floral Prints

It may be too cold for the signature espadrilles I love pairing floral dresses with but boots, booties, and flats are also great options to pair with your floral prints. I love my two-tone Chanel flats (similar here) and my Sarah Flint Natalie flats (Get $50 Off your first purchase with code SARAHFLINT-COCOONFIFTH). Similar to the flats, these booties really work year round and are perfect for those fall floral print dresses.

Layer, Layer, Layer

One thing about early fall is that the weather can be inconsistent. Some days temperatures can feel like a cool day of summer and others can feel quite chilly. Having turtlenecks and cardigans to layer with your floral prints is a nice way to solve for this. A turtleneck under a sleeveless floral dress is a good way to add a thin layer of warmth, and a cardigan to keep cozy when needed is another great option.

When in Doubt, Accessorize!

If you aren’t sure about wearing florals as part of your clothing options, try wearing a scarf or getting a small purse to complement the overall look. I really love some of Tory Burch’s floral prints for the season and this green pouch from Hill House Home.
