After thinking about starting my personal blog, and playing around with several names and templates (honestly for way too long), I have finally decided to launch this little labor of love. I know there are many blogs in the digital space today (not to mention feedback from some folks saying ‘people don’t read blogs anymore, don’t waste your time’) but I see this as creative outlet for me to express my ideas and recommendations in hopes to inspire you!
Let me tell you how I came up with Coco on Fifth.
My mom studied fashion design and went to Paris for a semester where she was inspired by all things Chanel. While in Paris, she was lucky enough to visit Coco Chanel’s 31 rue Cambon apartment above her flagship store. After that she vowed to call her first daughter Chanel. So here I am! That’s how I came up with Coco: Short, easy to remember, and I think cute, right?
Fifth Avenue in NYC is one of my favorite avenues here’s why: Since I was a little girl my parents would take me to NYC to watch the Thanksgiving Parade and I was lucky enough to stay at The Plaza hotel right after Home Alone 2 was released, because who doesn’t want to order an ice cream party for room service and swim in a big pool (then learned there is no pool at The Plaza)? I did not get the ice cream party in our room but I got beautiful memories of this wonderful city I get to call home today. Fast forward to 2014 when I got married and was able to get ready at The Plaza with my mom and bridesmaids before the big ‘I Do’ moment. So it is fair to say Fifth Avenue has a dear place in my heart.
Perusing down the beautiful avenue I cannot help but marvel over the beautiful architecture, shopping, and Central Park. I mean who wouldn’t want to be like Eloise and live at The Plaza or have lunch at the BG Restaurant?

Do not be mislead by the name, however. This will be a space for me to share my thoughts and recommendations with you of both high and (often times) low price points, because this gal is often on a budget ;). I like investing on key pieces but I love to find more attainable things that are not too pricey.
I truly look forward to covering topics that you enjoy learning about and feel inspired by to live an elegant and fabulous life. I also ask that you have a little patience with me, as this is a new territory I am excited to explore.
xx Chanel
