Safely support your local restaurants.
Sadly, big or small, many have had to close or scale back on staff. I try to order takeout at-least once a week to support them and so should you, if you can. It has been great to see some restaurants adapting their menus for delivery and promoting gift cards in which part of the proceeds will go towards a relief fund to help their workers. Some of the restaurants and and organizations doing this include: Tao Group, LDV Hospitality, Union Square Hospitality Group, James Beard Foundation, and National Restaurant Association.
Below are a list of restaurants that are delivering (including some of my favs) via delivery services such as Caviar, Uber Eats, Seamless, and GrubHub. They are NYC based but some have locations all over the country so I recommend you check them out to see if locations near you are also delivering!
Carbone (their spicy rigatoni is at another level)
Cosme (delicious duck carnitas)
Hillstone Restaurants (my husband loves their sushi and I love their ribs and artichoke dip)
L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon (two Michelin star restaurant and a pretty good burger option)
Marea (hands down my favorite delivery so far, one star Michellin restaurant)
Mastors Steakhouse (one of our fav. steakhouses, they are selling family meals and raw steaks you can cook at your own time)
Mercer Kitchen + Perry St (by the world-renowned chef Jean-Georges, these are NYC staples)
Milos (great for Greek)
Nerai (also delicious Greek)
Ruby’s Cafe (obsessed with their truffle fries)
Sugarfish by Nozawa (solid choice for sushi, you can order via phone to customize)
Sushikatsuei (also amazing sushi)
Tacombi (excellent Mexican)
Let me know if you try any of these spots, and I hope you and your family stay safe during these times.
